What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have.

TheInvestorNet is investment-management software for private-markets teams. We treat the deal, portfolio, investor, and relationship data you put into the platform as confidential and yours. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account & workspace data: names, work emails, roles, team membership, and authentication records.
- Product data you create: pipeline, deal rooms, diligence notes, documents, portfolio metrics, fund and LP records, tasks, and activity.
- Connected-integration data you authorize, such as Gmail/Calendar metadata and Slack messages (see “Google user data” below).
- Website inquiries: name, email, organization, role, message content, and source page submitted through public forms.
- Operational telemetry: logs, security events, and aggregate usage needed to run and protect the service.
How we use information
- Provide and operate the platform: deal flow, diligence, portfolio monitoring, fund administration, and LP reporting.
- Build the features you enable, including the relationship graph from connected email/calendar and AI dossiers/memos tied to your data and licensed market sources.
- Authenticate users, enforce permissions, maintain audit history, prevent abuse, and secure the service.
- Respond to inquiries and provide support.
Google user data (Gmail & Calendar)
If you connect Google, TheInvestorNet requests read-only access to Gmail metadata (gmail.metadata) and Calendar events (calendar.events.readonly) for the sole purpose of building your private relationship graph: who on your team has the warmest path to a person or company, scored by interaction recency and frequency.
We access message participants, subjects, and timestamps only, never message bodies or attachments, and calendar event attendees. We use this data only to provide the relationship feature to you and your workspace.
TheInvestorNet’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train generalized AI/ML models. You can disconnect Google at any time from the Relationships page, which revokes our access and deletes the stored tokens; request data deletion via privacy@theinvestornet.com.
Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell personal information. Workspace data is visible only to members you authorize, according to their role.
We use vetted subprocessors to run the service (hosting, email delivery, AI inference); they may process data only to provide those services to us. See our Subprocessors page.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a corporate transaction, subject to confidentiality.
Retention & deletion
We retain workspace data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. On request we delete your workspace data; some billing, security, and legal records may be retained only as long as necessary for those purposes.
Connected-integration tokens are encrypted at rest and deleted when you disconnect the integration.
Security
We protect data with encrypted transport, encryption of sensitive tokens at rest, scoped access controls, and audit logging. See our Security page for our practices and how to report a vulnerability.
Your rights & contact
To access, correct, export, or delete information, or to ask a privacy question, contact privacy@theinvestornet.com. Depending on your location you may have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA; we honor verified requests under applicable law.
